The beginnings of what might become Huntingdale Golf Club started in 1924, when a Committee rented some property in Doncaster Road, Doncaster and spread out a 18-opening course in the midst of the encompassing plantations. A similar Committee assumed control over the resources of the Box Hill Golf Club and restored it at the Doncaster Road site, under the name of Eastern Golf Club as it is known today.
